I’m proud of the part I’ve played in the history of drug courts and glad to continue my involvement through OJP’s amazing work in supporting them around our country. During my 11 years as a trial court judge in Colorado, I launched both a drug court and DUI court, and saw first-hand the impact they make. Overseeing these courts remains one of the brightest highlights of my career.

We offer truly customizable detox and residential treatment of addiction. Our program is built around treating the root cause of addiction, not just the addiction itself. At Second Chance Recovery, we spend the first day of treatment stabilizing and understanding the patient rather than just stabilization. After completing medical school at the University of Missouri – Kansas City and residency at the University of Kentucky, he has been practicing medicine for over 20 years. While treating patients as a hospitalist and in emergency rooms, Dr. Tran recognized a growing need to help those struggling with addiction. This motivated him to become board-certified in addiction management, in addition to internal medicine, and open 2nd Chance. Since then, Dr. Tran has used his platform as a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, the Kentucky Medical Association, and the Lexington Medical Society to champion the fight against addiction. To be eligible, inmates had to be facing imprisonment of six months to a year and had to have been diagnosed with chronic substance abuse problems. Out Patient Treatment (I.O.P.)
